Gearing Up for... The Wait

Now that you've submitted your funding application to support the critical services you provide for youth and families, it's time to wait.  What do you do while you're waiting?  Most of you worry.  You worry if you did well enough; you worry if you included everything; you worry if you covered all of the critical points; you wonder if you included the right appendices; you wonder... you worry... you wait.

Worrying provides opportunities for stress to creep into the good work you continue to do while you wait for the funding news. National Safe Place Network (NSPN) wants to help reassure you. You've done all you can do to ensure the funder understands the valuable services you provide.  The rest is in their hands.  It's important to realize the best thing you can do now is take care of yourself and your staff and prepare for the news when it comes. If you find stress and anxiety creeping into your work, try some of the self-care/stress reduction tips below.

Thank You

Before we end this year's Gearing Up for Grants, we want to take a moment to thank all NSPN's Organizational Development members who took advantage of the grant writing technical support and proposal review benefits. Your membership team enjoyed the time spent with you on the grant technical assistance calls, during individualized phone and skype support meetings, and through email correspondence, and we are honored to have earned your trust.  Thank you; we look forward to providing continued organizational development, professional development, and training support throughout the year.  Together we can!
