Power of Youth Challenge

America’s Promise Alliance and the Allstate Foundation have launched the Power of Youth challenge. Young people (ages 13-19) who are interested in creating and leading service projects that address racial division and injustice can apply for a $250 grant to complete the challenge.

Project ideas can be submitted through April 30, 2021. For more information, including application criteria, visit www.americaspromise.org/RacialHealing.

 

"Who's Hiring" Web Series 

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and TransCanWork are hosting a web series titled “Who’s Hiring!” The web series is aimed at providing non-binary and trans folks with resources and trainings to help increase their opportunities for employment.

#HumanTraffickingAwarenessDay Twitter Chat

National Safe Place Network (NSPN) will be joining the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and other national organizations for a Twitter chat Monday, January 11th. The chat will be a collaborative discussion about human trafficking and how organizations are working to protect children. National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month 2021

January 2021 marks the 11th anniversary of National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. One step toward achieving National Safe Place Network's (NSPN) vision of a world where all youth are safe is to help everyone increase their awareness of the vulnerabilities of all youth to sex and labor trafficking. This month, NSPN will be sharing resources that may serve as an introduction to some of you and a refresher for others. Resources will be updated throughout the month and also posted to the NSPN Facebook and Twitter pages.

Understanding the College to Career Transition

The Transitions to Adulthood Center for Research (Transitions ACR) recently released “’Adulting is Hard’: Understanding the College to Career Transition and Supporting Young Adults’ Emotional Wellbeing”. The article outlines findings in categories such as: preparing for life after college, entering the workforce, adjustment challenges, finances and student loans, and more. The findings were based on survey responses collected from college seniors.
